Adrian Hepworth is a freelance photographer who has lived and worked in Costa Rica since 1993.A zoology graduate from the University of Bristol in the UK, Adrian began to combine his life-long love of nature with his interest in photography when he first traveled to the tropics of Asia and Australia in 1991 and 1992.
On arriving in Costa Rica, he began to accumulate images of the country's huge variety of landscapes and wildlife. In addition to his work in Costa Rica, a two year contract with a travel magazine company between 1998 and 2000 enabled him to photograph in great depth the wild areas of the other Central American countries. Adrian was one of the winners of the 2008 BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition and his images of Costa Rica are used around the world in books, magazines and advertisements.
He is the author and photographer of two coffee table books: Wild Costa Rica and Costa Rica: A Journey through Nature. At present, Adrian divides his working time between acquiring new photographs for his stock collection, contract work, leading photo expeditions around Costa Rica and managing his lines of fine art prints and greetings cards. He lives with his wife and children in Cartago, Costa Rica.
